Fire pits are often made of precast concrete. These sit on top of your patio and have a sleek modern look. Precast fire pits can be made to order in nearly any size, shape or color. The most common shape is the fire bowl.
While concrete fire bowls are not completely built-in, they are also not portable. Precast bowls are typically made of a lightweight, durable concrete. The bowls, which usually weigh more than 300 pounds, are precast in a shop, rather than on-site. However, like permanent built-in fire pits, they can be attached to a gas line for easy lighting. Always make sure that precast concrete fire pits have been appropriately fire proofed before use.
