Small Backyard Becomes Party CentralSee how these Saint Louis homeowners got the ultimate backyard for hosting parties
We recently had the chance to get the details on this project completed by Artistic Group in Saint Louis. Here is what they had to say:
This residence, located in Richmond Heights, Mo., a suburb of St. Louis, is sleek. The home is nestled in a prominent neighborhood, and has not only its original charm, but stands out with its new additions. The homeowners wanted to extend their style to create an outdoor entertaining space. We worked closely with them on their project layout in order to maximize the tight yard's space.
Yard size: 25,000 square feet | Budget: $75,000
They had a well-manicured back-drop for the extra-large fire pit encased with a custom seating wall. We decided on a fire trough that is over 6' long, making it a place for 12+ people to comfortably gather around in addition to bringing a really sleek look to the back-yard area. As an added bonus, this is an amazing focal point from their indoor kitchen.
We also incorporated a Cal Spa to give them more entertaining options. In order to create a more permanent look, we sunk it into the ground and built a retaining wall around it with a matching solid stone capping system. They debated on a pool in the beginning, but decided to move forward with our spa design. They felt they would be able to get year-round use with the spa. Furthermore, the spa allows them the space for more furniture options for the many dinner parties they host.
A dine-in outdoor kitchen with stainless steel appliances and 1" thick granite countertops was also incorporated. Hardscape lights were installed under the countertops to accent the stone work and create a nice ambiance. The rest of the yard was lit with low-voltage LED fixtures, including solid brass pathway lights and flood lights that accent trees and various focal points.
