  • After the transformation, the yard is now an ideal retreat for entertaining and recreation. It features a concrete-paver pool deck and patio, stone retaining and seat walls, putting green, tanning shelf, fire pit, and fully equipped outdoor kitchen.
  • Equipped with two grills, an ice machine, refrigerator, and countertops for food prep and serving, the outdoor kitchen allows the homeowners to entertain guests without making trips indoors.
  • An overhead view of the pool deck, tanning shelf, and cascading waterfalls. Every piece of paving and wall stone is hand cut and had to fit like a perfect puzzle piece.
  • Previously, the backyard was nothing but a sloped, sod-covered lawn.

The before-and-after photos of this amazing backyard makeover demonstrate that nothing is out of reach if you have a clear vision in mind, a great design and installation team, and the budget to make it all work. Before, the yard was a blank slate, just an empty sod-covered lot with a few trees. Now it features a concrete-paver pool deck and patio, stone retaining and seat walls, putting green, tanning shelf, fire pit, cascading waterfalls, and a fully equipped outdoor kitchen.

Client Requests

"The homeowners love to entertain and have functions at their home often, so it was important that the layout flowed and had lots of open space, seating, and nooks where people could gather, as well as a fully equipped kitchen that would allow for full service without having to make frequent trips indoors,” says Britany Heater of Miller Landscape. “They also have a grandson and wanted a putting green, water features, and tanning shelf where he could play.”

Favorite Features

“The tanning shelf has really been a hit with the homeowner and their friends and family,” says Heater. “There is an umbrella hole, so little ones can sit in the shade and still be able to play in the water. The kitchen also turned out amazing. Between the two grills, ice machine, drink holder, refrigerator, and discrete trash bin, they can easily entertain guests without making a trip indoors.”
