Mexican Themed Outdoor Kitchens

Cooking outdoors in a Mexican style courtyard

Pancho and Lefty's Mexican Imports in Mandeville, LA

Tierra y Fuego

A must-have in a Mexican courtyard is a cooking area. The most authentic option is a traditional clay chiminea. Chimineas are wood burning stoves, originally created for baking bread. Some chimineas are purely for creating warmth, but others come with a rack for grilling. The second option is to install a modern grill or barbecue, encasing it in natural stone, earthy stucco, or decorative tiles.

The ability to cook outdoors is essential to a Mexican courtyard. You can select a traditional chiminea, or a modern barbecue decorated with Talavera tiles.
