Remember the feeling you used to get as a kid the night before leaving on family vacation? The excitement bubbling up uncontrollably within you, the minutes stretching on to feel like hours, and the feeling that morning would never come. These planters were met with the same excitement and anticipation by landscape designers around the country.

Described by their designer, Shannon Lester, as modern, hand-crafted, fashion forward, architecturally interesting and sustainable, Steel Life has received rave reviews. Lester created the collection to fill a need she saw while designing landscapes for her clients in Central Oregon. There was a lack of modern options for planters, so she created them.

The collection of vessels is American-made using raw and salvaged materials. Inspired by a shallow gold panning tray, their Mod Dish is intended to provide the right environment for low-water, low-maintenance plants such as succulents. Aside from plants, all their planters can be used to chill drinks for a party, to hold fruits and veggies picked from your garden or to proudly display your favorite items. They are available in six different designs of various shapes and sizes and come in five vibrant colors.

If the same old terra cotta, concrete and lead garden planters aren’t your style, take a look at Steel Life. Each of the designs is a breath of fresh air for the planter world.
